Crackenback on the Alpine Way
One of Australia's Great Drives
The Alpine Way or Crackenback is the roadway which links Jindabyne to Thredbo, Perisher Ski tube and beyond to Khancoban and finally Victoria. More than 100km in length, it winds its way through some of the most spectacular scenery in Australia. There are many attractions tucked away on route: from the Wild Brumby Schnapps Distillery to spotting actual wild brumbies and Scammels spur lookout offers a vista of the main range from a side not seen by many, a favoured ride for motorcyclists and bicycle riders.
